He also mentions many more! not just basics but many strategies on hands, examples, and money management. Intermediate and Advanced players: if you have some hours to spare I can recommend listening to this series as well. You have to practice practice practice, it takes serious determination. Finally, an author breaking down content that applies to the rest of us! This book is like a survivors guide to Low Stakes poker and a conquerors guide in one! I have a close friend whose experience with poker was limited to the occasional home game and one of the reasons I'd recommend Mike's books is because I was astounded how they helped him develop a strong game. The style of narration is pleasant, the book is read, but conversational enough to keep you sharp. to sit and go Texas Hol 'em poker play. I was surprised at how thorough the information was and how the content being covered progressed so seamlessly from the fundamentals of poker onto intermediate and more advanced play. {PARAGRAPH}{INSERTKEYS}This is such a comprehensive book! great resource! That being said, it's not 'too advanced' that the concepts become dry and academic and it's not too advanced that it no longer applies to the stakes this book focuses on Low Stakes. this is how the professionals do It! Just put it on when you're in your car to work and there will probably be some gems in there that you can use to improve your game. Volume 1 is a general strategy book, whereas Volume 2 focuses on heads-up play. If you're starting from the bottom and are looking to move up through the stakes, or if you are an intermediate player looking for a great refresher or to reinforce and add to the knowledge you already have then I recommend you read this book. I enjoyed listening to the audiobooks and was able to learn some new strategies and insights. If you are determined to put in the work, then these guides will take you to your goals. If there was no effort needed we would all be making thousands of dollars playing poker. I can't wait to read more content from Mike Turner! The two books really complement one another and share the same ideas.
